SPORTS MEDICINE ACUPUNCTURE
Sports Medicine Acupuncture looks at Chinese Medicine through the lens of Western Perspective of Sports Medicine when addressing injuries to tendons, muscles and bones. I really enjoy working with Sports injuries because the muscles, tendons, and fascia are an interconnected web which acupuncture can fine tune.
This modality uses a lot of E-stim as a complement to Acupuncture needling. You will feel a gentle pulse of current through the affected area as current is sent through the needles. Very often, sports injuries need more circulation to a damaged area to speed the healing and this method works very well for pain relief, shin splints, ankle sprains, hip and knee issues (miniscus, ACL etc.), and many other sports injuries.
I learned a lot of muscle testing in school and through working with other practitioners. I also took classes under Chad Bong coauthor of THE ACUPUNCTURE HANDBOOK OF SPORTS INJURIES & PAIN. Chad has a great sense of humor and a no nonsense approach to Chinese Medicine.
I also use several Keiko Matsumoto protocols for knees and ankles. I have a custom made Japanese Estim machine and triple bypass chords as well as diode rings for these protocols. They work wonderfully.
